I'm considering switching from PC to Mac and need to know if ALL the stardock products I have purchased need to be purchased again. Can someone help? I've found an amazing setup cheap due to someone moving.

I didn't even know Stardock Products were developed for Mac.
I think the closest thing to Windowblinds for mac is http://www.kaleidoscope.net/ [Kaleidoscope], and its' functionality is limited to OS9.2 and below. It isn't supported in the OSX v10.
Although one would wonder, since OSX is a UniX derivative, that you could theoretically run an Xwindows Theme System on it, and theme it that way.

Cygnus, you're wrong about that. Shapeshifter skins OSX, and from what I heard, and seen...it does a pretty good job of it too. You can read more about Shapeshifter, here. http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/shapeshifter
You can oogle at the themes for it at http://www.macthemes.net
As far as your Stardock programs go, none of them will work on a Mac...period. Might want to consider staying... ;]

Well that show's ya how far out of the mac loop I am, last time I had a Mac was a G3 Box @ work for product support issues. I am going to check shapeshifter out now. Thanks JMH

Well darn! Does that mean I can't use WB if I buy the Mac? That would suck!

None of the Object Desktop stuff will work on it as they're developed only for Windows.
To skin OSX you use Shapeshifter, as mentioned above. Shapeshifter also allows you to change the system icons by applying iContainer themes, which are icon sets that are used with CandyBar and Pixadex(Both are Mac icon changing programs).
There's also a program called Mighty Mouse, which is developed by the people who make Shapeshifter, and it lets you change the cursors on OSX.
And also there's obviously Konfabulator too, if you want some widgets on the desk.

Stardock hasn't made any apps for Mac customization. You'll need to visit http://www.unsanity.com who offers plenty. You can use CursorXP skins with Mighty Mouse though. For icons you would need CandyBar: http://iconfactory.com/cb_home.asp
There aren't many skins yet for ShapeShifter, but it's getting more popular. To see what's going on in the Mac GUI community you could try these sites:

All running nicely on my G4.

I may have to reconsider. Once I'm hooked on a product I'm tenacious. Thanks for all the replies, you've given me something to think about.

So I wonder... hmm was the same kind of deal struck with the use of .cursortheme as was the iconPackager themes?

I don't think there was, but in this case Unsanity have a formaty of their own for their app, and cxp importing is a side thing, whereas TGT were basically just leeching off Icon Packagers success.

You'd still need to buy new applications unless you
plan on using Virtual PC on the mac. Then you could
still use all Stardock apps with Virtual PC
http://www.apple.com/uk/smallbusiness/mac_pc/applications.html
Hmm.. for some reason the forum doesn't let me add the correct link...
Copy the url link into a new browser window, then copy/paste the last part(pc/applications.html) after the first part.

hi WARCRY!
You might get a brand new mac cheap soon as Apple
supposedly are about to release a monitor less iMac
model.
